First Words is Ottawa’s Preschool Speech and Language Program. This program helps preschool aged children living in Ottawa reach their full communication potential. First Words focuses on the prevention, early identification and treatment of speech and language problems.

All our services are free.

Funders & Partnerships: The program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre is the lead agency of the First Words program and works in partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), the City of Ottawa, the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre (OCTC) and Andrew Fleck Childcare Services.
