Emergent literacy

Language is the greatest predictor of a child’s success later at school.  Children with strong language skills will do better in reading and writing.

Language and literacy go hand in hand! At First Words, our key message is “Talk, talk, talk” in order to help children learn.  Parents can “pave the way to literacy” through the use of different language activities. Share the resources below with parents to help them keep their children’s speech and language skills growing and get them ready for school!  Great resources are also available from the Early Literacy Specialists.
