Upcoming Workshops

Growing Up With Many Languages

Common questions affecting bilingual families will be addressed in this workshop. Come learn how to introduce a new language, tips on how to encourage your child’s communication, speech and language milestones and First Words services. A free workshop for parents and guardians of children 0-5yrs.

Baby Talk

Babies communicate from the day they are born.  Join us for an interactive session on how your baby communicates and what you can do to everyday to build their speech and language development.  Learn about speech and language milestones and where to turn for help should you need it. This is a free workshop for parents and babies aged 0-12 months.

Talking Kids

Much of your child’s speech and language is learned before the age of 5yrs. Join us to learn about your child’s speech and language milestones (0-5yrs), general tips about how to promote speech and language development, how to introduce a new language to your child and First Words services.  For adults only.

 Community Visits

Our Health Promotion team visits many programs in the community.  Drop-in to these programs to talk to a staff member about your child’s speech and language development or any concerns you may have.   We recommend that you contact the program listed in advance to confirm hours and any policies that are in place for you to take part in the group.  Registration may be required for some of the programs listed.
