Screening clinics

When there are concerns about a child’s speech and/or language development, direct families to a First Words community screening clinic where they can meet with a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Ottawa families can access First Words screening clinics until their child is eligible for senior kindergarten. Our free “drop-in” screening clinics are first come, first served and don’t require an appointment. Assistance with transportation and cultural interpretation are available on request.

If you have speech AND developmental concerns regarding a child, please refer the child and family to the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre.
